New gallery added of GoPro photography

On  Nov. 22, 2014, I added a gallery of still I have been taking over the last six months with my GoPro Hero 3 videocamera/still camera. Despite its reputation for taking outstanding videos everywhere in the world, doing everything imaginable, this camera is an amazing little workhorse for still photography storytelling. See some of my images on my new gallery.

Snowfall in Seattle, a lovely winter’s day

A rare snowfall arrived in Seattle late on February 8. I got up early and enjoyed the scenery around Salmon Bay and Fisherman’s Terminal.

Trains, grains, and industrial Interbay Seattle

I took advantage of a beautiful and weirdly dry winter day in Seattle to photograph the Port of Seattle, the massive BNSF rail yard in the Interbay area, and Elliott Bay. This winter up to three grain ships on any given day are seen waiting to fill up with commodities at Terminal 86, otherwise known as the massive grain elevator north of downtown.

Ringing out the old and ringing in the new

I found one of my favorite pictures from 2013, of a running friend’s cool-down stretch on a beautiful ridge in the Umtanum Recreation Area in central Washington. The following two were taken on the first day of the year–and at least one of these folks should resolve to perhaps do a few more walks, though I commend him and hundreds of other Seattleites for taking the polar bear plunge at Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, on Jan. 1, 2014.
