I took these photographs in Nepal during my visit in August and September 1989. I remember the bone-crushing poverty experienced by many Nepalese, many poor health and public health conditions I observed in rural areas, the stunning beautify of the country, and its rich cultural and religious traditions. I also recall feeling deeply ambivalent about being a tourist and the tourist culture and how aid development operated. I also learned a hell of a lot from my Nepalese counterparts. Please click on each image for a larger view with the lightbox tool.
